Best Days to Send Emails: Saturday and Monday

Citing a report by eROI, MediaPost published interesting information today about email open and clickthrough rates. The findings? Weekends get the best open rates (37-38%, which seems extremely high to me).

I noticed that Monday also performed well, and that surveyed users preferred to receive email on Monday. I’d wager that the weekend open rates are primarily personal addresses, whereas the Monday open rates are primarily business addresses. Good data for product information as well as marketing – if you’re going to tell a customer about a new feature or release, make sure you send the message at a time when the recipient is likely to read it.
